Do you have a strong online presence?

You may be the King of Search Engine Marketing, but if you ignore the power of marketing in general, you´re missing out on some serious business.
Here are a few tips on how to create a strong online presence:

- Pick the right domain.

Branding is the key. Implant your business´name into the minds of everyone coming across your site, seeing a banner of yours, hearing about you or reading a comment regarding your products and services. A name needs to stick. Getting a long keyword domain name with dashes is not the way to go. The search engine benefits are miniscule and no one will remember how to get back to your site.

- Get a brandable logo.

Anything will do. No need to be too artsy. A Nike swoosh type of logo is all you need. Be unique and recognizable.

- Create a slogan.

Silly or not, it´s better to be giggled about than no one mentioning you at all.

- Design a site that is easy to use.

It´s better to have a white background with only links and information than a site that´s confusing. people want to go on a site that has what they´re looking for. They find it, they are happy. A nice, clean design is recommended. But don´t overdo it. As long as a site serves its purpose and puts your company in a good light, you are good to go.

- Best foot forward.

When you add content to your site, place your most popular products on the homepage. And your biggest money makers as well as special deals. If you haev a contest going or if you´re running a blog with interesting info, put that on the homepage as well. Whether you have a nice looking link (text or image) going to your blog or, even better, add your blog feed to the homepage, those are things that keep folks coming back to your site to read upcoming stuff.
Let them know you´re alive and that there´s more to come.
I don´t recommend having that feed or link on top. That´s where your products should be. I would recommend adding it on the bottom, but on the side is fine as well.
